"Routt Rifles" was one of the units that made up the Colorado State Militia during the late 19th century. The unit was also known as Company E, First Regiment of the Colorado National Guard. In 1883, the company met for drill on Thursday evening of each week at the State Armory located between 1448 to 1454 Champa street at the corner of Fifteenth Street, Denver, Colo.
